If there is a D3 (and it looks like there will be) and it doesn't suck, I'm sure I'll play. Do you guys see yourselves getting into it?

Aside from D1, I've never played any other RPGs- UO, Everquest, DaoC, Asheron's Call, SWG, Hellgate: London, World of Warcraft.... none interested me at all, but 8 years later, I can still put time into D2. It's too bad that only ladder resets make the game playable for me, and even then, only for one long session.

I would, and I agree, they should reset the ladder much more often. once every 3 months imo.

if they did resets every 3 months I would be hooked up to this game so much..

Yeah. I'd play it. But I don't think it will be better than Diablo II. It will be like Guitar Hero II -> Guitar Hero III.

It will be there, but totally lacks heart. I think this way because alot of the key members behind Diablo left to make Flagship Studios. And now that there is the whole Activision-Blizzard thing on the table. Expect Diablo 3 to get like 5 expansion packs and pay to play. And when that happens it almost loses all depth and purpose.

I want to believe it will be successful though. Just like Sega's new Sonic game. And Duke Nukem Forever. But I just think they are set up for disaster.

I hate Activision with a passion. With them around, EA isn't so bad anymore.

3 month resets sound too soon to give it meaning. Maybe like 4-5 months. And not as many people would play Ladder anymore knowing that their stuff will be gone in a matter of 3 months. But I guess that gives it much more urgency to play as much as you can before your time is up. And there will be alot more non-ladder play.

The main thing that destroys Diablo II outside of the first week (tops) is hacks, hackers, and glitch exploiters. Map hack is the worst thing to ever happen to Diablo II. Next on the list is TPPK.

Before all that. Hardcore was so damn enjoyable. You go into games and it is like everyone is your friend and the banding together to get through acts knowing you only have one life.
It just loses alot of that feeling when at any second that fireball that your party member is shooting can just as easily turn and kill you in a split second. Now while this makes hardcore more enjoyable than softcore. It was never made to have that kind of edge of party member instant hostile. That was the entire point of their hostile system with the delay and no town portals.

I hate that they put a delay on waypoint hostiling because it almost encourages hackers and takes away the aspect of legit player killing. Which is VERY rare.

wow IXO...havent seen you in awhile....I would most likely play, especially if there is a PVP factor. PKKing, PKing, and dueling was the only fun factor for me. D2 the game was ok but it was so rinse and repeat.

bring back old skool BvB dueling, classic style using some mean 2h maces n shit. that is all i want >

I've seen other games that I liked and still don't really play them or even give them a chance so I don't see why I would jump to d3 unless it were really something else

diablo 3 will not measure up to diablo 2. From the wiki, it sounds like they are going to be adding alot of WoW elements to it.

I'd give it a shot.. but it would really need to be one hell of a game for me to consistently play it. All the MMO shit has really killed any reason to play... no matter what you want to do, somebody has a bot/hack for it that will either do it better than you, or give them a huge advantage over you indirectly.

Bot or hack? Have you ever even played a mmo, any bots or hacks get banned quick fast and in a hurry. Cheaters lose in mmos, people with skill usually are allways on top. Mybe your just not skilled.

Oh, and programmers can pump out scripts all day long to get around any patches put out by Blizzard, hacks (Usually exploitable errors, wppk is an example of one from D2) are another story, and many of them cannot be completely fixed without rewriting much of the game itself. There will always be somebody with something that has an edge over you at any given time in any major MMOG.
